Math & Maturity

A few years ago I was contacted by a mom whose daughter had waited very late in her school career to begin math. She and I worked through Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry and Algebra 2 in just a few years. Let’s just say that math was not her favorite subject. She recently started college, and a few days ago contacted me about academic coaching for her Algebra class. I sent her a resource that might help her, and we scheduled a session for this week. I heard from her yesterday to say she took her first quiz and was elated that she scored 98%. I just had this text exchange with her. This makes my heart sing! Working yourself out of a job is a good things for a teacher.
